Faith, Hope & Charity would like to share their appreciation with Storm Lake and surrounding communities as they say, “Thank you,” for the service of retiring members of the Faith, Hope & Charity Board of Directors.
Cindy Wiemold, FHC’s Executive Director stated, “Faith, Hope & Charity is very fortunate to benefit from the dedication, insight, and vision of our Board Members in leading our organizations during these critical times. I am grateful for their years of support and confident of the course for the future they have worked to establish.”
Members of the Faith, Hope & Charity Board of Directors who have completed their second term of service as of June 30, 2017 are Michelle Ahrenholtz, Sarah Dvergsten, Charlie Larson and Jon Wilcke. Also retiring is Board Member Tim McDaniel, who graciously added an additional year after completing his second term in 2016.
Michelle Ahrenholtz, an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher & Consultant with Northwestern Iowa’s AEA in Denison, served as a member of the Advancement Committee and is a strong and consistent supporter of FHC’s Annual Fund Drive, and of their mission. Michelle brought a very welcomed perspective to the board dynamic, both as mother to a child with special needs and as an advocate for ECSE.
A Certified Fitness Specialist with Buena Vista Regional Medical Center, Sarah Dvergsten continued a long tradition of Dvergsten Family support for FHC and served as a member of the Personnel Committee. Sarah’s healthcare background and her quiet strength brought a valued perspective and balance to the board of directors.
Charlie Larson, Vice President, Mortgage Loan Officer at Central Bank in Storm Lake served on the Advancement Committee, serving as chair for several years. He has been a strong supporter of FHC’s community events and fundraisers, and has even volunteered time and cooking talents to smoke rib tips for their Taste of Storm Lake in the past.
Bringing strong leadership skills and valuable financial experience, Jon Wilcke, Market President-Northwest Iowa with MetaBank, served as President of the Faith, Hope & Charity Board during 2015-2016, and served as a member of the Executive Committee and the Finance Committee during his tenure. Jon’s willingness to volunteer additional time to help with events like Lose the Winter Blues and Taste of Storm Lake has been greatly appreciated.
Tim McDaniel, Assistant Professor of Mathematics & Quantitative Business at BVU, served as president of the FHC Board of Directors from 2014 to 2015. Tim also served on the Finance Committee as well as the Executive Committee and was invaluable in assisting in the analysis of data and strategic planning. Faith, Hope & Charity is grateful for his willingness to serve an additional year to assist the board with continuity of leadership.
